How Do I Prep for My Photoshoot?

Getting ready for your senior photos? Don’t stress—we’ve got you. Here’s a simple, no-fluff guide to help you prep like a pro to feel confident, comfortable, and totally camera-ready.

1. Plan Your Outfits Early

Pick 2–3 outfits that feel like you. Think variety—maybe something casual, something dressy, and something fun or trendy. Don’t forget to try everything on ahead of time (yes, even the shoes). You want to feel good in what you’re wearing, not fidgety or uncomfortable.

Pro tip: Steer clear of busy patterns, neon colors, or clothes with big logos. Neutrals and solid colors photograph beautifully.

2. Keep Hair & Makeup Simple

You don’t need to go full glam unless you want to! Clean, polished, and you is the goal. If you're getting hair or makeup done, schedule it early enough so you're not rushed. If you're doing it yourself, give yourself plenty of time to avoid last-minute panic.

Bonus tip: Bring hairspray, a brush, lip gloss, and a little powder for quick touch-ups during the shoot.

3. Nails Matter (Even the Short Ones)

Your hands will show in your photos—so make sure your nails are clean and tidy. No chipped polish. Neutral polish is always a safe bet!

4. Get a Good Night’s Sleep

Seriously. You’ll look and feel better with a little extra rest. And drink plenty of water the day before to keep your skin glowing.

5. Don’t Forget the Extras

Here’s a quick list to pack for shoot day:

  • Outfits on hangers and steamed (especially if one outfit is a cap and gown!)
  • Shoes & accessories
  • A water bottle
  • Lip balm or gloss
  • Touch-up powder or blotting paper

6. Relax—You Don’t Have to Know How to Pose

That’s my job. I’ll guide you every step of the way, so you don’t have to worry about what to do with your hands or where to look. Just show up ready to have fun, and we’ll create magic together.

Photoshoots should feel like a celebration, not a chore. If you come prepared, you’ll feel more confident, and that confidence will show in your photos. Can’t wait to capture your vibe!
